One of the many reasons our stone-coated steel roofing is guaranteed to last is because it is made out of GALVALUME treated steel.  GALVALUME sheet steel is a 55% Al-Zn coated sheet steel product that is ideally suited for most types of roofing and siding applications as well as unexposed automotive parts, appliances and miscellaneous applications like furniture, outdoor cabinetry, computer cases, gutters, pipe, etc.  Since 1972, over *100 million tons of licensed product has been produced globally.  GALVALUME sheet steel continues to gain approval by specifiers, architects, building owners and many others due to its versatility, ease of use, aesthetics and long-term performance.

The combination of Aluminum and Zinc give GALVALUME treated steel its proven ability to resist corrosion.  I was asked recently,  “should I consider an aluminum roof so it doesn’t rust?”  I answered, “no,  you will just be giving up strength,  aluminum will dent VERY easily, weather it be from foot traffic or a hail storm.”  In addition to no real advantage of using aluminum roofing for corrosion resistance,  the cost is much higher.
